I am $65k in debt..what is the most effiecient way to get me out of it? I am not looking to not pay back my debt, I want to pay it back since I created it but I want to find a way to pay only ONE bill. Right now I have a bunch that I pay each one each month. How can I get out of debt without changing my life? I have a full-time job, i live at home with mom and still can't get out of debt. I don't spend money foolishly, except for going out to the bars. How do I get out of debt without paying it all at once? I want to start getting out of debt so we can afford some stuff for ourselves. How can I find out what state a Sprint "debt" originated from? I've been dealing with a debt collection agency trying to make me pay for a phone line I never had. I've gone through all kinds of calls, and for some reason, Sprint does have my personal info, and says I did create a home phone account. I have never owned a home phone in my life though. I had them send me copies of the bills, and there were never any calls made on this line, etc. But I'm getting away from my original question. I am trying to find out what state the debt originated in. This is because the statute of limitation on debt determines the validity of the debt. Different states have different SOL's so I need to find out what state Sprint debts originate in. I've looked all over the internet, but cannot find any answers. HELP! Thanks all! I live in Florida, and did at the time the "debt" originated. I believe the creditor can pick whichever state has the longer SOL. Luckily Florida is 4 years, and that passed a few days ago. kansas is only 3 years, so that'd be great.

What happens if you get out of a debt management program? Im a 22 year old full time college student with a part time job. About three months ago I joined in charge debt solutions because I thought it would be easier for me to manage my credit card bills that way. However now after joining, I'm realizing that Im unable to keep up with the payments Im making to them. It's like after my other bills and this payment are taken out every month, I hardly have any money left and I think I've put myself in a bind. If I leave the program now will this mess up my credit, will it make it harder for me to join a debt management program in the future, will my creditors be resistant to work things out with me in the future because of this? I simply just can't afford to be in the program now.
How do I find out how many people were jailed by lawyers for debt collection? People who can't pay a debt are sent a supoena to appear in court for what is called an aid and execution hearing. If they fail to appear, they are sent another supoena for contempt of court. If they fail to appear a warrant for there arrest is issued. I would like to find out how many people are arrested for this, and I would also like to know how many of those are on disability or welfare.

How do i get out of this bank debt and still pay my bills on time? When My husband lost his job, we got into major debt with our bank. They took away our overdraft priveleges, but still pay up to $300 in overdrafts. We bounced checks left and right and once we tried to stop our bills got really late. He fianlly has a job but we can't seem to catch up. My entire paycheck goes to bank charges every week. Is it a good idea to stop my direct deposit and pay my bank off gradually that way I still have money to pay my bills? His check pays our babysitter and a few bills and when we were desperate we took out a payday loan too. Any advice?
How can I get out of my tax debt? I owe $80k+ in taxes and simply cannot afford to pay the IRS anything. I make very little at the moment and I owe the taxes on money I have never seen. I worked for a company who had Me put things in my name for awhile. They had me take out large sums of money for them as cash. I now know they used me as a shell company but the paper trail marks me as the debt holder. I was paid a very small sum of money to do this on top of my wages for the company. Being new to business and having no knowledge I thought it was a great deal. Now I am just screwed. Any suggestions? If I decided to just do the time how would I go about doing that and how long would I have to serve?
When a person dies in debt is it wiped out? When a person dies with debt - like credit card debt, is the debt wiped out or does the responsibility fall on family members and if so how is it determined what family members are responsible for paying the debt. I'm not talking about funeral expenses, but personal debt.
Out of debt finally, but now how to budget and learn to save? It's been years and finally we are not carrying debt. I know the next step is to learn how to budget better and save for big things like a house. Right now, our credit is good, we use one credit card which is paid every month, but my husband and I seem to charge a lot. This is money I know we could use to save for a house. I'd say most of the time we buy stuff we really don't need. How do we learn how to cut the fat out of our lives and save for the things we really do want? How can I get my husband on the same page? Thanks.

My husband and I make pretty good money, although my salary will triple in about a year when I finish college but anyway, in the past we've paid of our credit cards, then got new ones and ran those right back up, then paid off again, cycle, cycle, cycle and I'm getting tired of "wasting" money this way! Should I help my boyfriend get out of debt? I have been with my boyfriend for a year and a half. We are in a serious relationship, leading to living together in the future. We're both in our early 50's, divorced, older teen kids. As part of my divorce settlement my marriage home needed to be sold and I received a nice sum from the sale. I'm planning on using a large chunk for a down payment on my next residence. I'm currently renting an apartment and want to buy a condo. I will still have a nice amount left after the down payment. My boyfriend is in debt and wants to pay off all his debts, credit cards, etc., which will total about $25,000. He didn't want to have to ask me if I could help him out, but he did and he wants to work out a repayment plan of putting a certain amount of his pay check into my account monthly. It will take about 5 years for him to repay me. He is willing to sign some sort of an agreement. I seriously doubt that he will not pay me back. What are people's opinions of me lending him this money? to answer some of your questions - neither of us wants to get married again. We had been in long term marriages before. I also don't want to give up my alimony. Living together is a commitment, we just feel that we don't need that piece of paper. A couple of you mentioned that he should see a financial counselor. How do you find one? And how would you know if that financial counselor is a good one with good advice? As far as me putting into an investment, probably for retirement - I do have a nice sum in a couple of retirement accounts. Actually this money is part of the money to be used to "hide" so that I will be able to contribute as little as possible for my daughter's college education. She does not want anything to do with me so I feel I should not be obligated to have to pay for her college.
how much debt does a family physician come out of college with? I'm an undergrad, and I was wondering how much debt a doctor is usually stuck with? I want to be able to go abroad with my wife and do medical work in a third country. I don't want to come out saddled by to much debt. If you have any ideas as to how I can be able to bring a medical skill to a developing country, I'd appreciate it!
If I put all of my student loan debt on a credit card, could I cancel this out by declaring bankruptcy? I currently owe $45,000 in student loans and I am having a hard time paying them off. The loans are private (sallie mae) and I am not elligible for consolidating them via federal loans since I am not a US citizen. I was not able to get a visa so I had to leave the US. I live in Europe now. I understand that declaring bankruptcy would not cancel out the student loans, but I have read that bankruptcy could cancel out credit card debt. I have a good credit score (790), so given some time, with an even higher credit score, I may be able to transfer my loans to a few credit cards. What are the laws regarding credit card debt and bankruptcy? What difference does it make that I am not a US citizen and do not live in the US?
Should I take out a loan to reduce credit card debt? I was thinking about taking out a personal loan to pay off some of my credit card debt (about 13k). The loan would be at lower interest than my current credit cards. Should I do this, or are there any other suggestions?
How do I get out of a contract for deed? or get a loan w/a high debt to income ratio and low credit score? My husband deserted me and my daughter and his name is still on the contract. He gives me no $$ support. I gross only $2300/mo. A mortgage broker told me my debt to income ratio is too high to get a loan and that my credit score, 545 is too low. They want $180/k for the house and they want me to pay the property taxes, $2700 and since my husband left me with the financial burden and I don’t have his whereabouts. I hate this bind I am in, can anyone give me some advice? My payment is $1000/mo and I am living on paycheck advances to buy food because of the high house payments which are not being credited to anything, really…The mortgage holders are lawyers and are having the payments taken out of my paycheck through a collection company and aren’t even having the payments reported to the credit bureau to help improve my credit score? I need a quick solution since my husband has been gone for 7 months now. Help?????
How can I help myself get out of debt? I am in about £11k debt and each month by the time i have paid my repayments i am left with just £10. Would a debt management company help me? I can't carry on like this for much longer, I've got to the point where i am considering just not paying my loan back and hoping they wont catch up with me as I have moved twice since i took the loan out. I'd just like to say that I can't stop spending as I have no money left to spend.

How do you get out of debt when you are $2,000 in the hole? My husband and I have had a rough patch and went almost a month with little to no work which put us in the hole by $2,000. Now, he has a good paying job but it pays enough to take care of our present bills not the outstanding debts ie: payday loans. What are some money savy ways to get out of debt? Will payday loan places work with you? I have two girls and no family or friends to help out with babysitting and daycare costs 300+ a week. I know I worked at a daycare. The rates at daycares are crazy ridculous and the jobs I would be qualified for wouldn't even pay the daycare costs.
