  1. you could try barclays, they are scammers and love to see people in debt. Lloyds won't HSBC might Halifax, they may give you an overdraft of £100.

  3. If you have debt problems, I would advise you to avoid bank accounts with an overdraft facility. An overdraft is only going to put temptation in your way, and in the long run it will make your debt problems worse.

  5. Unfortunately if you have debt problems you are very unlikely to get an overdraft or a debit card depending on how bad they are of course. You may also find banks reluctant to open a current account with cheque book because of the debt problems they'd not wish to risk running debt up with them also. You'd more than likely be offered a 'Cash Account or Basic Bank Account which would only provide cash ATM card. You can still pay in and pay bills by standing order or direct debit etc.
