  1. Stay away from those!!! There is always a catch! I know people who ended up paying 29% interest rate plus had to pay thousands of dollars for they fees! Go to your Bank and see if they can consult your debt and help you out, if not, than concentrate to pay off one at the time. Starting with one with lowest interest. Or do the flip over, but make sure you pay off something. Get you an part time job and get serious with this. Wasting time on line ain't gonna help!
  2. well the only advice i'll have for u is that alot of them things work but u have to find the right agencies...just like everything in the world today...there is good and bad, so becareful while u make ur research on those debt assistance programs cuz some of them are fraudulent...hope this helps u out!
  3. I am currently enrolled ina debt counseling service. They did charge a fee of $36 a month but it was optional....they get a fee from the credit card company or at least the company I deal with does. I had to shop around a bit as they all had a little bit of a different program. The one I ended up going with saved me about $350.00 a month and I will be out of debt in about 2.5 yrs. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a train coming at you. The only advice I can give you is you have to be disciplined in order to make the program work. In my case I went out and got a second job which I use strictly for fun money. GOOD LUCK!
  4. Debt assistance programs can ruin your credit. This is something they don't tell you in the ads. Once a creditor sees that you can't handle your money, it's worse than a bankruptcy. They do take a monthly fee and collect all of your money, pay your bills and give you what's left over, if any. They call your credit card companies and make payment arrangements with them. YOU can do the same thing! You can even talk to the credit card companies about reducing your balance AND your interest. They (the credit card companies) will even take a small payment every month from your checking account (and charge you NO interest or late charges) just to help you get your credit rating back on good terms for 12-18 months. Then they will reduce your interest rate. Talk to them first before you pay somebody to do the same things that you can do! I've done it! Good Luck.
  5. They said they couldn't help me.
  6. Stay away from those credit counseling services. They are bad news. Here is a way that will definitely get your debt back on track and boost your credit scores too. Start paying all your credit cards bi-weekly. Just take the minimum payment, lets say $50, split that in half. Now it is $25 then in 2 weeks you pay the other $25. You keep on doing this and you will see your debt shrivel up to zilch in no time. Just make sure you get a seperate calendar and mark it with what you are going to pay off every 2 weeks. When one bill is paid off then take the extra money and use it to pay off the other bills. To save money is easy too. Make a triangle and start on the lower left hand corner and put down $10. Then from there double the amount each time you go up the triangle. So the next amount would be $20, $40,$80, $160. Let's say $160 is at the top and the other side beginning with the top you put $160, $80, $40,$20, $10. You do this repeatedly and in 3 months you should have $1500 or more depending on what you can afford.
  7. I used them about 8 years ago. I used one that was for profit (they charged me 15.00 a mo) and the other one i tried was for free. Neither one of them ruined my credit any more than it was. They get kickbacks from the credit cards companies. Yes, they stopped all of my interest & fees from accumulating. The credit card companies refused to do that for me. It all depends on the type of creditor you have, but some of them will put on your credit report that you are using a credit counseling agency. Consumer Credit Counselors of America are all over the place and they don't charge a fee. See if they are in your area or check w/the Better Business Bureau before going to some random agency w/your info. I hope it works out for you.
  8. DO NOT DO THIS !!! YOu will be sorry. You're finances will be destroyed for YEARS.
